Plot Summary

Arthur Kid, a young solicitor, is sent to the seaside town of Crythin to settle the estate of a lonely old woman who recently died. The locals don't seem keen on venturing too near to the woman's house and Kidd is soon being followed by a mysterious and sinister woman in black. At the woman's house, he starts to uncover terrible secrets that could lead to even more tragedy.
