In previous versions of EOFFTV, there were a number of special features – festival reports, interviews and various other bits and pieces – that haven’t really had a natural home on this iteration of the site. Until now… Rescued from the mists of time, these are sometimes years, even decades old and are presented again here with few alterations – opinions may have changed in the time since these were first published and (hopefully!) the writing has improved somewhat!

Festival reviews

A London based film festival held annually over the August bank holiday weekend since 2000. The focus is mostly on horror films though occasionally science fiction and thrillers have also been shown. Organized by Paul McEvoy, Ian Rattray and Alan Jones, the event was initially held at the Prince Charles cinema off Leicester Square in London but the increasing popularity of the event meant a change of location after four years, moving across the Square to the Odeon West End.

Since 2005, there have been a number of additional events, including one-day mini-festivals, premieres, all-nighters held at the ICA in London and a series of regional events held in Glasgow, Brighton, Nottingham, Leicester and Cambridge. In 2005, Revolver Entertainment launched a short-lived “Fright Fest Presents” DVD imprint which released five titles, most of which had been shown at the festival.

For several of the early events, EOFFTV attended FrightFest and carried daily reports from each festival which can be found by following the links below:
