Plot Summary
In the town of Mystic Falls, Virginia, teenager Elena Gilbert has lost both parents in a car crash and has fallen in love with man who turns out to be 162-year-old vampire Stefan Salvatore. Their relationship takes an awkward turn when Stefan’s older brother Damon turns up and recognises Elena as the exact likeness of his former lover Katherine Pierce.
