Plot Summary
At Christmas a young girl is freezing to death on the city streets but is afraid to go home to her abusive father who will beat her for not selling enough matches. In the glow of her matches she sees a vision of a family enjoying Christmas and of the only person who ever loved her, her late grandmother. As her last match fades away she dies and is taken to Heaven.
