An Italian horror film, the last of Lucio Fulci's loosely linked “trilogy” of films about , begun with …E tu vivrai nel terrore! L'aldilà (1981) and Paura nella città dei morti viventi (1980).

Plot Summary

Norman Boyle, a New York based academic, is assigned to investigate the suicide of Dr Peterson, a fellow scientist who moved into a rambling New England house, formerly owned by one Dr Freudstein, then murdered his mistress, then hung himself. With his wife Lucy and son Bob, he relocates to the long-abandoned house and no sooner have they moved in than Bob is being visited by a mysterious young girl, May who seems to be able to fade in and out of photographs at will and who nobody can see or hear. As bodies start to pile up, it becomes clear that there's something very nasty lurking in the basement…
