Little else is known about this production it's listed in the British Film Institute database which is unable to establish a country of origin but states that it's an “Inkwell cartoon”. This suggests that it might be mistaking it for the US Out of the Inkwell cartoon Mechanical Doll (1922). Alternatively, it may be being mistaken for The Mechanical Doll (1901).
