A British television science fiction serial directed by Hugh David. As well as introducing new companion Jamie McCrimmon, it was the last purely historical story (i.e. one that involves no science fiction elements other than the TARDIS being used to deposit the main cast at the heart of the story and The Doctor’s alien origins) until Black Orchid in 1982. No episodes are thought to have survived.

Premise

The TARDIS lands in the Highlands of Scotland in the aftermath of the battle of Culloden and The Doctor wins the trust of a group of fleeing Highlanders. But a platoon of Redcoats capture The Doctor, Ben and the Scots and pass them on to a crooked solicitor who plans to sell them into slavery in the West Indies. It’s up to Polly and the Laird’s daughter Kirsty to try to save them while The Doctor tries to smuggle arms to the Highglanders and effect his own escape.
