PLOT SUMMARY

Elton Pope and his friends meet regularly to discuss sightings of a mysterious stranger known only as The Doctor and occassionally play ELO covers in their band. Everything changes when they are joined by the mysterious Victor Kennedy who is also looking for The Doctor but who is not quite everything he appears to be...

CAPSULE REVIEW

One of the most controversial Doctor Who stories ever, Love & Monsters caused uproar among online Doctor Who communities. It's a brave experiment - The Doctor and Rose barely feature at all and it's more about the impact their adventures have on the ordinary people around them - but one let down by Peter Kay's unconvincing performance. Still, it shows the extraordinary flexibility of the Who format, features some genuinely laugh-out-loud moments and some fanboy baiting borderline obscene jokes. A failure, but a noble one.
