SUMMARY
A theatrical troupe are rehearsing their latest
production, a bizarre giallo musical, when one of them is murdered.
They hear that a psychopathic mass murderer, Irving Wallace, has escaped
from a nearby psychiatric hospital. Before long, the survivors have
been locked into the theatre, the key is missing and Wallace is in there
with them...
CAPSULE REVIEW
Former actor and Dario
Argento assistant Michele Soavi makes his feature debut with this
stylish and brutal little gem. He's clearly learned well from his time
working with Argento
as he employs many of the same visual tricks to spice up a script that
echoes Pete Walker's
The Flesh
and Blood Show (1972). At a time when Italian horror was
stagnating under the weight of too many cut-rate gialli and uninspired
zombie retreads, Deliria was a welcome reminder that
the industry could still produce uncompromising and appealing work alongside
all the dross. (Full
